Mockingjay (The Hunger Games Trilogy #3) by Suzanne Collins

Synopsis: "My name is Katniss Everdeen. Why am I not dead? I should be dead. Katniss Everdeen, girl on fire, has survived, even though her home has been destroyed. Gale has escaped. Katniss's family is safe. Peeta has been captured by the Capitol. District 13 really does exist. There are rebels. There are new leaders. A revolution is unfolding. It is by design that Katniss has been rescued from the arena in the cruel and haunting Quarter Quell, and it is by design that she has long been part of the revolution without knowing it. District 13 has come out of the shadows and is plotting to overthrow the Capitol. Everyone, it seems, has had a hand in the carefully laid plans-except Katniss. The success of the rebellion hinges on Katniss's willingness to be a pawn to accept responsibility for countless deaths, and to change the course of the future of Panem. To do this, she must put aside her feelings of anger and distrust. She must become the rebels' Mockingjay-no matter what the personal cost."

Title: Mockingjay
Series: The Hunger Games #3
Genre: Dystopian, Science Fiction, Romance, HUNGER GAMES GENRE (it deserves it's own genre)
Pages: 390
Ages: 12+
Date I Finished It: February 6th, 2012
My Rating: 5 stars (Why wouldn't I? It's SUZANNE COLLINS' BOOK)
My Word: DELIRIOUS and HORRIFYING at the same time!!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Why does The Hunger Games have to end?!?! It feels like I read the book too quickly!! I'm going to miss the books so much!!! Okay, okay enough with my feelings...on to the book!
WOW! This book really shocked me... Suzanne Collins has done it again, no kidding. Katniss helping with the rebels, by being the Mockingjay... all that power she had was incredible. I certainly loved the different activities going on through the book. Like, Peeta being captured and later, well I don't want to give it away, but it was so unique it made me delirious! Peeta and Katniss did not have as many romantic experiences though... :'(Of course, there were some upsetting moments, like all the deaths that occured. Of course, I won't name them, but there were a lot! But let me just tell you, don't just read the first Hunger Games, you have to complete your life to read the rest of the series! I'm serious, it's worth the time...Obviously, I was so sad in most parts of the book that I thought I was going to cry, but that is the power Suzanne Collins has that can move people. This series made me literally love science fiction books, and I will never forget them. The ending really got me though. Oh, how I loved the ending, it was so happy despit all the deaths that made Katniss feel sad, but she said she would remember all the good things people did to others. It was like playing a little game, repetitive, almost tedious....but there are worse games...

Catching Fire (The Hunger Games Trilogy #2) by Suzanne Collins

Synopsis: "Sparks are igniting. Flames are spreading. And the Capitol wants revenge. Against all odds, Katniss has won the Hunger Games. She and fellow District 12 tribute Peeta Mellark are miraculously still alive. Katniss should be relieved, happy even. After all, she has returned to her family and longtime friend, Gale. Yet nothing is the way Katniss wishes it to be. Gale holds her at an icy distance. Peeta has turned his back on her completely. And there are whispers of a rebellion against the Capitol - a rebellion that Katniss and Peeta may have helped create. Much to her shock, Katniss has fueled an unrest she's afraid she cannot stop. And what scares her even more is that she's not entirely convinced she should try. As time draws near for Katniss and Peeta to visit the districts on the Capitol's cruel Victory Tour, the stakes are higher than ever. If they can't prove, without a shadow of a doubt, that they are lost in their love for each other, the consequences will be horrifying."

My Word: OBSESSIVE (and full of twists, but not sure how to say it as an adjective)

Oh My God!!! When you read this book, you will certainly realize it is obsessive (my word!). Suzanne Collins is AMAZING!!! Onto the book, I loved all the new characters that are in this book for the next Hunger Games. WOW, this book had a HUGE twist in the beginning about the Quarter Quell. All I'm going to tell you is that Katniss was upset, and so was Peeta, and Haymitch, and many, many, more... Oh wow, was that obsessive. (there's that word again!) I liked how they hid something from Katniss and told her about at the END of the Quarter Quell, another twist. I was hooked with this book all th way through!! And don't worry, you Katniss and Peeta fans, their romance continues! I loved every single piece of this book!!! If, or when, you read this, you won't regret it! The most positive thing I felt was definitely the characters. (but I already said this) They were all so unique and it was just so fascinating to read about them. The place of the arena was unique also. Like, the water surrounding, making it harder for people who could not swim. The ending was just so intense! With Beetee's electricity thing, and Katniss, at the end, ending the games by doing something with the electricity...(not gonna tell you!) Oh wow! What a book... the romance between Peeta and Katniss was indulging! Okay but this book was a definite:

The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games Trilogy #1) by Suzanne Collins

Synopsis: "In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV. Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen regards it as a death sentence when she steps forward to take her sister's place in the Games. But Katniss has been close to dead before - and survival, for her, is second nature. Without really meaning to, she becomes a contender. But if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that weigh survival against humanity and life against love"

My Rating: 5 stars, it was amazing!
My Word: UNPUTDOWNABLE (literally)

How can Suzanne Collins come up with such a great plot? She displays that the capitol in Panem shows the other districts that they have the power by putting these Hunger Games out to the districts, where kids fight for survival. Katniss, the main character, goes to these Hunger Games and learns so many things that she never noticed before. During Katniss’ stay at the arena, she experiences the love of Peeta or Gale. She loved each one of them differently. Like, the kisses with Peeta at the arena, and thinking of what Gale said about running into the woods together. I truly couldn’t decide which one she would truly love at the end. I worship Suzanne Collins because of her fabulous talent. This book, broke my heart, made me laugh out loud, and cry for happiness all at once. I don’t know how Suzanne did it, but she made the best book I’ve ever dreamed of come into reality. (book reality, anyway) The characters were all so unique and these charthey really made the story UNPUTDOWNABLE. Every one of them were fabulous. Prim is amazing to me because she is only twelve in the story, but she has to deal with all the dystopian problems of the nation. Even though other reviewers say she is weak, she doesn’t seem at all to me. All the characters worked together to make this story the best I believe it could possibly be. My thanks to Suzanne Collins for creating this new, different, and one of a kind world. I truly loved everything about this book. Suzanne Collins surprised me with it and she showed me this could really happen in the future.
