I think I expected too much of this book. I mean, it was alright...very creative, nicely built characters, interesting plot (Shadowhunters who kill demons; they can't be seen unless you have the Sight); but I just don't think it was as good as I wanted it to be.

I had mixed feelings for Clary too. I liked her funny personality and witty comebacks, but I didn't think she was badass enough...and the name Clary wouldn't be on my top list of girl's names if I were choosing. Just saying :S. I loved Jace though! Simon got on my nerves, but he's hot in the movie ;). Also, the whole plot twist at the end got me by surprise, but the movie had a sort of different ending (what Hodge said to Valentine about lying) :O

Anyway, this book really didn't move me in the end. Also, the action parts weren't as shown as I wanted them to be; like I wanted it to seem visual. I liked the kind of chemistry between Jace and Clary because it wasn't sloppy, but it wasn't too little either.

The only reason this got 3.5 stars were because of Jace, Clary's mom (her mom is the definition of badass), the plot twist ending, and the whole concept of Sight. I wish I had the Sight like Clary and the rest of the Shadowhunters! Oh, and the beginning was very interesting too (and very suspenseful in the movie).

 

Although this first book didn't reach my expectations, I'm still curious to know what happens next so I'll be reading the second book: City of Ashes in the fall! :)

Review

This book as a whole I rate as 3 stars, just because the first 100 pages bored me.

But, the second half of the story inspired me.

Who would've known a teenager like Sutter Keely would have the kindness in his heart to help a lonely, shy girl out? Just the thought of that gave me hope that not all guys go for the popular girls. Some guys realize that they can change a girl's life.

Sutter Keely did just that. He changed Aimee Finicky's life, and not just because he asked her out. Aimee saw depth in Sutter the way no other girl could; she didn't listen to him like he was a joke, but like he was worth something. And Sutter helped Aimee build up her courage, stand up to watch she believes, and fight for her dreams.

The two grew off each other. They needed each other's backs to help them become the best that they can be. That is what inspired me. A girl and a boy changing their lives for the better from the motivation-no- inspiration from their partner.

That's what I loved so much about this book. Also, the ending was one of my favorite sad endings in a book ever. I believe Sutter made the right choice because he knew Aimee deserved better; he was just the boy to help her realize that, and realize that she could do anything.

The only thing I really didn't love was the whole alcohol thing. Sutter was definitely at least slightly drunk half the time and Aimee started drinking a lot too which wasn't a great choice. But, the ending of course motivated him to limit his drinking.

All in all, this book inspired me by the way two people could help each other so much, and learn from each other. It almost brought tears to my eyes-- almost, but I am tougher than that haha. This book showed an experience that neither of them would forget. It changed their lives, and I can just imagine Aimee 10 years later reminiscing about Sutter Keely with a smile on her face and thinking that's the boy that change my life. I don't know, I get kind of sappy with these books, but I loved this book, and it definitely inspired me to help someone out when their life is being slowly drained away, because everyone has a chance to do what they love, and everyone's lives are worth it, they just have to live in the Spectacular Now.

Reached, the final book of the series Matched.

I wish I liked it better, I really did.

I was going to give this book 4 stars, but then I thought better of it. Here's my explanation of why I rated it:

Good:
-The plot. I like the creativity of the plague, and how when you go "still", you can still hear your surroundings. Also, the way that you can communicate with another "still" person in your mind. But, the only way to communicate with them is when the other is about to die. Also, the whole Rising and they're plans were very intriguing to me. The whole idea of all the puzzling pieces, such as The Rising's plan for the plague, the meaning of 'the pilot' that Oker told Xander, Nea Lei, the Red Garden Day, etc. All the puzzle pieces were figured out and fit together throughout the book which made me pleasantly surprised to have the book's very own unexpected twists.

-In addition, I liked the little bit of suspense with Ky having the 'you know what'.

-The poetry was so beautifully written, it made me wish I was a poet like Cassia haha.

Ok, here comes the bad: The character development. Ever since the beginning of the series I knew there was something off with the characters, I just couldn't figure what.

Now I know, it's that some characters have a lack of human feelings. Like, Xander isn't even the slightest bit jealous of Ky? Or that Cassia doesn't even shed a tear when she finds out her papers are (view spoiler)gone?!?! Or that Ky and Cassia don't even feel the urge to come hug each other once they finally see each other again after what seemed like forever for them, although the plague is a warning to not get too near each other? Literally, all Ky said during that moment was "I see Cassia." Some parts, though, they did show a little of their loving feelings, and I thought it was cute the way Ky and Cassia shared poems. But, the list could go on for lack of feelings.

Don't get me wrong, some characters, such as Indie and Oker were pretty well thought out and had a nice edge in their personality, but Xander, Ky, and Cassia just didn't feel enough emotion.

Next, the love triangle. It wasn't that great, because, as I noted earlier, Xander wasn't even jealous, nor did he try anything to win Cassia's heart. He kind of just gave up, so I can assure you the love triangle didn't go very far.

Lastly, the story was way too stretched out in the beginning, it was kind of hard to continue reading it in a longer sitting. Knowing me, I like more fast-paced, action books, so I guess this just wasn't the one for me:/.

That's about it! This is more of my constructed, criticized reviews because this book just didn't fill me with that emotional happiness in the end, although it was happy. I just sort of forgot about it in the end. Nothing that made me keep my thoughts on the book after I read it, like what happens with my 5 star rated books. This book missed some things, but overall, I liked it.

YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO ME MARIE LU. YOU CAN'T. I'll just hide in my room and sob until November...


















I actually would've written a reasonable review if the ending didn't tear me apart. You can just delete the last 20 pages or so and everything would be okay, but THIS?! No, okay? This can't be happening.

I can't wait until June and Day get back together, and Kaede comes back to life, and Tess leaves the picture. Until then, leave me be with my bowl of ice cream and tears.

Okay, this book overall was so suspenseful and action packed and romancy and all the good stuff that I like to consume. During Legend and Prodigy, I kept turning each page, hoping to find the answers, and hoping that everything will be ok in the end.

The only difference is that I was perfectly fine with the ending of Legend, and NOT with Prodigy.

June and Day are perfect for each other, and I don't care if any of you protest that because they just are. It's final. June is so kickass, I wish I could be as amazing as her. Unfortunately, I'm not. Day is so hot and unbelievably perfect in my mind, and he's also kickass. The perfect kickass couple.

I HATE you suspenseful book. You twisted my mind. Everything was great in the end, and then some heartless author AKA Marie Lu (Just kidding, I love her) came behind my back and stabbed me until I officially died of my feels... Damn you Prodigy! This next book better have a god damn happy ending!

"We climb the stairs. They're sagging and crumbled in places, but we climb the anyway, and to make Barclay less nervous, I try to keep from touching anything. When we get to the fourth floor, I hear something. Correction. I hear someone. I can hear him singing."

OMFG....or maybe in the spirit of this book I should say "ABSO-FUCKING-LUTELY" (haha Elijah). This book is too perfect for my horrible reviews, but I just need to get my feelings...OUT.

This book felt like I was in another WORLD where there is a multiverse, the "black hole", portals that transport u between each Earth. It's not even just these things that made it feel like I wasn't just reading words on paper; it was each characters. I LOVEDLOVEDLOVED the characters SO MUCH.

Speaking of characters, lets go right into that: First off, Ben and Janelle's relationship *o*. BEST THING EVER TO HAPPEN IN A BOOK. Seriously, each intimate moment made me squeal, smile, and become all giddy. BEN IS THE MOST AMAZING GUY I WOULD ASK FOR. He is perfect, and even though he made a rough mistake towards the middle of the book, he handled it so well. Alright, before I make a whole ESSAY about Ben, I have to move on.

Okay, Janelle was so kickass and she adapted to the tough situation quickly which is one of the things I love about her. The other thing I love about her is how quickly she thinks of a solution. Damn, if I was in the same place as her when she was trying to break Elijah out, and she had to jump through the fire. I would probably say "screw this" and kill myself. BUT, she found the best solution you can at a time like that.

Next, Elijah. Alright, since I want Ben to stay with Janelle, I'd probably pick Elijah has my newest fictional guy crush. The picture of him on the cover (all the way to the left) is so HOT, and his personality/attitude is awesome. He made me laugh a couple of times, and the way he talks to Janelle, as a friend is so nice/hilarious.

Now it's Cecily. Oh my god, her bubbly attitude and high spirits were all I needed to make me love her. She just makes every bad situation at least a little bit better with her optimistic remarks. She was a good add to this book, and I love how she gets along with pretty much everyone she talks to.

Lastly, Barclay. HE IS THE BEST. At one point, he'd be serious and do his kickass job, and another he would smile and drink tea and tell Janelle his childhood. He would be one of the fictional characters that I'd want to meet. I could seriously picture him in my mind, with short brown hair, bright blue eyes, his high jawline. Maybe a little like Joseph Gordon-Levitt, but a little younger and with blue eyes.

That's him!^^^

Okay, now the overall plot (which I should've done before the characters, but whatever :) ) Once, IT WAS JUST A HESITATION, I thought it would be awesome to be in Janelle's world and have a multiverse, where you can portal anywhere and try to kill them bad guys and make out with the best guy I've ever met AKA BEN and have a BFF like Cecily and have an awesome guy friend like Elijah. BUT, I realized that then, basically most of everyone I loved on my own Earth would be dead, and I'd have a DOUBLE from another world which would be awkward... ALSO I'd have gotten so beat up and almost killed so many times that I'd probably need therapy afterwards. Anyway, EXCLUDING all of the killing and doubles and stuff, Janelle's life would probably be my paradise haha. Continuing, this book was so well thought out with the idea of the human trafficking between universes. Also, the different people (a lot of people from the IA) who were apart of it. ALSO, the Struz idea was AWESOME. Same with when Janelle sees Ben's double and knows it's not him :D, and the Ben sees Janelle's double, but doesn't realize that it's not her. >:( ;)

I think I covered everything, and I HOPEHOPEHOPE (I haven't done the research yet) that there is a third book. OMG THERE BETTER BE A THIRD BOOK!!!!!! Especially the last sentence of Unbreakable made it seem like there was a third book! "And we're going to face whatever comes next together."

Seeing as in Delirium, Hana, and Pandemonium, the books I read before Annabel, (Although Annabel should've been read before all those books...yeah...I realized that a little too late) that ALL had their own special twist in the end (especially Hana), I guess I had too high hopes for this to have some awesome twist to it. The ending was pretty good, leaving a cliffhanger for those who haven't read Pandemonium before reading this, if you know what I mean *hinthint*.

Since Annabel was a novella, short and sweet, I decided I'll leave my review to be short and sweet as well ;).

I LOVE LAUREN OLIVER'S WRITING. The beauty of words in this book pulls my insides out if that makes sense.

I have A LOT to cover in this review with quotes galore so bear with me!! :D I love this book too much!!!! Out of 5 stars, it was really hard for me to click the 5 because I would want to make it a BAJILLION STARS. Seriously, it has been TOO LONG since I read an actual really good book (AKA one of Lauren Oliver's books).

1) BTW TEAM JULLIAN. Ugh sorry I said "team blahblah" because now it sounds like Twilight and I never liked Twilight just saying. BUT seriously since Alex wasn't in this book until the veryveryveryvery end, I've grown to (*gasp* dare I say it) LOVE Julian and Lena together. I guess it's just the way he acts with her is adorable.

"'Are you cold?' Julian asks. 'A little,' I say... There's a pause and Julian rolls over onto his side and loops his arm around me, scooting forward so our bodies are pressed together, and I am cupped in the space around him. His heart beats through my back-a strange, stuttering rhythm. 'Aren't you worried about the delieria?' I ask him. 'Yes,' he says shortly. 'But I'm cold too.'...More silence. Finally, Julian says 'I'm scared.' He barely whispers it; but I can feel his lips moving against my neck, as though the words are being spelled there. 'I know,' I say, 'Me too.'... 'I'm less scared with you," Julian says." (236)

OMG SERIOUSLY THOSE TWO TOGETHER FOREVER.

2) Anyway, continuing with the story... MOST BEAUTIFUL WRITING EVER.

"Grief is like sinking, like being buried. I am in water the tawny color of kicked-up dirt. Every breath is full of choking. There is nothing to hold on to, no sides, no way to claw myself up. There is nothing to do but let go.

Let go. Feel the weight all around you, feel the squeezing of your lungs, the slow, low pressure. Let yourself go deeper. There is nothing but bottom. There is nothing but the taste of metal, and the echoes of old things, and days that look like darkness.”

And another quote....
"I read once about a kind of fungus that grows in trees. The fungus begins to encroach on the systems that carry water and nutrients up from the roots to the branches. I seriously would add a billion more quotes, but I'm already using so many quotes. D: Lauren Oliver has the words of a goddess. Everything she writes is beautiful, even if it was when Blue died, she wrote it so beautifully :'(.

3)I loved Lauren's way of using the then's and now's as chapters because it made the story more powerful.

4) Characters: So many new characters were added to the second book! I love all of them. Tack, Hunter, Blue, Sarah, Lu, Raven, JULIAN, and more ugh. OMG I MISS HANA SO MUCH IT'S KILLING ME. Even though, if you read Hana, the prequel, she did something that I didn't approve of that hurt LENA, but it helped Lena find Julian so that they love each other <3. But Hana was really one of my favorite characters. I love Raven too, although sometimes she was a little too tough on Lena, but the end of the book I fell in love with her for what she did :).

5) OMFG THE ENDING. KILL ME NOW. UGH WHY. Okay, I thought I liked Alex and Lena together in Delirium, which I did, but the end of Pandemonium changed my feelings for him. Here's the quote refresher:

“Promise me we'll stay together, okay?" His eyes are once again the clear blue of a perfectly transparent pool. They are eyes to swim in, to float in, forever. "You and me."

"I promise," I say.

Behind us the door creaks open, and I turn around, expecting Raven, just as a voice cuts through the air: "Don't believe her."

The whole world closes around me, like an eyelid: For a moment, everything goes dark.

I am falling. My ears are full of rushing; I have been sucked into a tunnel, a place of pleasure and chaos. My head is about to explode.

He looks different. He is much thinner, and a scar runs from his eyebrow all the way down to his jaw. This book took me a while to get through, partially from the lack of excitement and partially from all the school work I've been having DX. Anyway, I was going to give this book a three star, but the ending threw me off and I thought it deserved one more star. The reason I did so was because the end was perfection, it wasn't a horrible ending, where I usually throw my book across the room when that happens, (good thing it wasn't because this is a library book!) or it wasn't a cliffhanger where I have to go online to see if there will be a sequel, and there's usually not a sequel for some reason and I'm left with a cliffhanger! Ughh I hate those. But this ending was where I closed the book and felt sastisfied :).

The character develpoment was an OK throughout the series. I guess for some reason in the first book, felt Thomas was a little lifeless, but as the series progressed, he became more of a wise, main character that you love <3. OMG it was so hard to pick between Teresa and Brenda before Teresa did that horrible thing in te second book that made it so hard to believe she did that for the reason she did! By the end of the thrid book though I was so sad of what happened to her :'(. I realized that what happened to her at the end of the book was from doing the same thing that she did in the second book. (Look at spoiler to see what it was only if you've read it >>> (view spoiler)(***********Save Thomas' life.***********) Aside from that, Minho was my alltime favorite character just because of his personality and the way he can lead so many people <3. All in all, the consept of the story throughout the series, especially the last book, was phenominal and I will never ever forget this series because of the creativity and the connection I created with the characters and the story :').

Review: Great start of a new series that I am DEFINITELY going to read :D! The best part of this book was Rose and her kick-ass attitude. This was also probably one of the first books that literally made me laugh out loud. IT WAS HILARIOUS. That might be over exaggeration, but I was laughing so hard throughout the story. I would put a little funny blurb on the book, but I couldn't find any funny parts right away, and I'm too lazy to look through the book like a usually do, so just read the damn book! :P

Anyway, the whole story plot was well thoughtout. At first I had no idea what they meant by Strigois and Dhampirs and Morois, but as the story went on, I finally started to understand it. HUGE twist in the end :O I'm not even going to talk about it as it will take away too much.
The characters! Rose is definitely my favorite. (as I said in the first paragraph) She's got that bad-ass attitude and she is super funny and can sometimes be reckless. I have to say, I'm nothing like Rose, but I wish I were! Lissa, on the other hand, is usually (not really in the story, but from Rose's perspective :D) calm and collective. She's cautious about everything, which is the opposite from Rose. As the stories rears, though, Rose becomes more and more protective of Lissa, and Lissa becomes a little more reckless. Moving on to Dimitri! Dimitri's the Russian mentor of Rose's and they both start liking each other (like like)even though Dimitri is 7 years older than her. They then realize it couldn't possibly work out since they both gaurd Lissa. BUT I HOPE THERE RELATIONSHIP CONTINUES IN THE NEXT BOOKS! Christian, oh my god I want to marry him! I'm less complicated than Lissa (I hope) and maybe he'll notice me HAHA! I LOVE Christian, but Lissa and Christian are PERFECT for each other in the story :).

This book had me on my toes (is that even an expression? :D) the whole time reading it. The font was actually pretty big so I read it almost in one sitting. (No complaints) I give this book a smacking 4 stars.

HELL YES. This series......oh my god, I already miss it :(. THE CHARACTERS: How does Stiefvater make characters like this from her brain? Like,
Isabel: The bitchy one that cares about you without saying it out loud.

Grace: The girl that thinks of everything positively (most of the time), and is friends with Isabel. She has so much to deal with in life, yet she's strong and pulls through, just like Sam, Cole, and Isabel have done as well.

Sam: The guy that cares about Grace in every way. Translated: The guy of my DREAMS. He'll do anything for Grace and the wolves, even if it means being a wolf himself again.

Cole: The hot, good looking, famous guy that realized the quality of life. OH MY GOD I was like, DEPRESSED when something happened at the end that I won't tell you about. I was thinking: BOOKS ARE SUPPOSED TO HAVE HAPPY ENDINGS! (That's my motto from now on ;) ) But, of course, this book quickly stitched my heart back together and the ending was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT.

Speaking of the ending...............WOW. SUSPENSEFUL. When I woke up today, I was like: "Maybe I'll read a chapter or two." and instead I ended up reading the last 50 pages of the book. The whole time I was reading the ending, my hands were gripping the book tightly and I my mind was whizzing by the words as fast as I could. I needed to get to the ending because you can't just stop in the middle of a suspensful part, no no no. Anyway, like I said I'm depressed that this series is over :(, albeit I'll never forget it.

Review: First off, SO many people died. It was sickening to think of this story coming to LIFE. Every time someone died, it broke a little piece of my heart. But, the people who survived, I just KNEW would survive and I'm happy they didn't die at least. I love romance so I'm also happy Summers put a little in the story.

Secondly, SUSPENSE. The first 50 pages reminded me of the movie The Breakfast Club, but instead of the teens trying to escape the school, they're trying to keep zombies from coming in. Also, instead of Saturday detention they are trying to hide from the zombie apocalypse. Once they left the school it was all SUSPENSE. I couldn't put the book down. And OMG the characters were AMAZING. I loved Rhys from the beginning okay. ;) I loved the difference between all characters and I loved the whole zombie-stuck-in-a-school idea. I especially liked Mr. Baxter's part in the story aha. :)

Review:I loved this book a lot, and there were minor things I would touch up on, but they were kind of my personal opinion so I gave this book a 4 star. I'll star off by talking about what I thought could change and then I'll do the parts I LOVED. P.S. There are spoilers. Make sure you've read Matched before reading review.

Okay, I just HATED that Cassia basically ditched Xander. :'( I felt so bad. What did Xander do wrong? I feel so bad that Xander got left in the dust. Near the end I would've been mad if Cassia dumped me and then asked a favor to help find the boy she truly loved, just like she did to Xander...NOT COOL I really hope the sequel has Xander finding a better girl. The characters were okay. They seemed very similar to each other (Ky and Xander, Cassia and Em) but not quite the same, which didn't bug me that much. Also, this book was very similar to The Giver. I liked The Giver; I mean, it was okay. This book was better than The Giver though if I had to choose. This might be just because I like action, but there really wasn't much of it in this book. It seemed slightly slow, but every page had a huge part in the story!

This book DOES have a lot of pros, though. I'm a sucker for romance. The little things that Ky and Cassia did together were so cute! I loved how they did little, simple things: (kiss, write "I love you" to each other) Unlike this generation which is making out and grinding, basically. Also, I love the incorporation of the poems. Cassia kept thinking of the "do not go gentle" part of the poem and I love how she kept bringing it back throughout the story.

Ugh....CLIFFHANGERS. Well, this was a cliffhanger for me at least. SHE HAS TO FiND KY!!! Obviously, I loved this book a lot (mostly because of the romance) but there were some little patches here and there that I wanted to change because they kept nagging me throughout the story. The minor problems were basically how mad I was that Cassia just dumped Xander. POOR XANDER! He was MATCHED with her and now he has nobody :'( I hope Cassia chose Ky because she wanted someone like me to date Xander, of course. Anyway, I give this book four stars because, well, I'm not a critical reviewer ;) AND despite all the bad things I thought of, it was beautifully written and thr romance was just a sweet cherry on top for me. (And I'm still waiting for Xander to come find me and date me!)

THINGS I LOVED IN THIS BOOK:

YES. I love Ben, and Alex, and Jared, and her father, and Struz, and Janelle, and even Elijah. (Reid is not to be spoken about during this review -_- ) Yes, the characters were brilliant. (view spoiler)That's why I was so sad when I realized about half of them died at the end of the book :( Seriously, this book was fabulous. The only downside was that, during the beginning of the novel, I already had the book set up in my mind, like what was going to happen in the end and all that, but my idea was no where NEAR what actually happened in the book. And wow this book was well thought out from literally, the beginning to end.

Part of the reason for the five star rating I gave it was, honestly, the cover! I only like covers with actual people if they look the same as what I would think of them in my mind, and this cover fits EXACTLY to Ben and Janelle. (And Ben.....oh my...just..can I have him? Please?) Everything in this book fits so perfectly to the beginning where Janelle died from the TRUCK and Ben healed her to (view spoiler)Barclay helping Janelle and Ben and telling them about the multiverse. This book was seriously well thought out. The humor in this book made me laugh out loud and Janelle's personality was awesome (Her saying that she's a nerd by liking certain things or doing things when she was little. Also, her love of swimming.) And, from the "About The Author", this is Elizabeth Norris's first book. All I can say, this book has gone beyond my expectations (or rather, my idea of what will actually hapen in the book before reading it!) This book earned it's five stars and, oh my God I can't stop looking at Ben in the cover!

First off, sorry if this review has grammar problems and/or doesn't make any sense. It's late and I'm tired.

Wow. This book.

I have to say I caught myself almost crying near the end. This journey through Valerie's hard time in highschool, after the shooting, and how Val learned many lessons as the time passed helped me learn a valuable lesson as well. In her perspective, I could easily tell she had no idea that Nick would start killing the people they put on the "Hate List", but if I were a character in the book and I didn't know Valeria at all, I would assume she were part of the reason for it. The little flashbacks of Val and Nick were definitely my favortie parts in the book. It showed both sides of Nick; the fun and happy Nick that understood what Valerie was going through, and the one who hung out with Jeremy and was serious when he talked about death. This book made me cry throughout and smile at the end. (And I love the kind of books that do that!)

COVER I like the paperback cover better! Partially because: To be honest, I really couldn't figure out what the cover showed before I read the book. It was like an illusion! I couldn't find where the face was. And if you saw the actual cover, you would know what I'm talking about because the cover showing on goodreads is much more clearer to see. Once my sister showed me where the face parts were and I saw it, I still didn't understand why'd the book would be different shades of gray because, personally, that seems boring. After I read the book, I realized that the different shades of gray TOTALLY related to the story! When that one scene where Valerie was painting, Bea told her to start with the shading (the grays). So I assume that's why the cover is like that.

PLOT Okay, now the actual story. At first I thought this book was slightly boring, and it didn't occur until the last 40 pages or so that it didn't seem as boring. (Hence the added .5 star to the rating) I realized it was actually vary facsinating reading about Valerie learning and seeing life more clearly. She didn't think about herself, which she did before the shooting (about how bad her life is with her parnets/bullies), but rather thinking about stepping into someone else's shoes and feeling their perspective of the shooting and even life before it.

CHARACTERS First off, as the story progressed, and Valerie Leftman learned more life skills, I personally started to love her for acting the way she did. In the beginning she thought of herself as the only one who really needed help because people thought she was some reason of the shooting. She didn't realize that other families were having a hard time about the shooting and of the loss of their loved ones. Next when she became friends with Jessica and learned how to deal with being blamed for, she started to blame herself and thinking maybe she was a hero for helping Jessica. Finally as she interviewed each family for the memorial that Jessica and her were planning, she learned that everybody was a hero that day, one way or another and she finally started to become happy. On the otherhand, during Valerie's flashbacks, I thought Nick Levil fit Valerie's old way of describing Nick; cute, funny, sweet, etc. She knew he liked to talk about death but she never thought of it as a reality the way Nick did. After the shooting, I knew Nick just lost it and probably was angry about the bullies and popular girls who were always "on top". Now on to Jessica Campbell, the one who bullies Valerie in the beginning, but once Valerie saved her life, started to think things differently about life. She became friends with Valerie and became a nicer person in general. She also helped Valerie get back on her two feet. (NOT literally because Valerie did get shot in the thigh)

So, I liked this book a lot and it's plot was really heart wrenching because of how sad these kids' lives were and as it progressed, became a true inspirational story. :)

Review: I. WANT. MORE. When I finished this book , I was SO SAD it ended. I just fell in LOVE with this book (and maybe Sean Kendrick too ;) ) from the beginning. At first, I was slightly confused about the whole "water horses" part, but once I read more through the book I began to realize why they are apart of the island. Now I kind of want to live on an island where Puck and Sean live and ....wait- enough with my fantasy. Let's get to the book.

The almost main thing I loved about this book was the characters. They were so well put together. Also, Puck and Sean's realationship was progressively built and was written beautifully. You already know, but I HAVE loved Sean Kendrick since the beginning of the book and I wish to be like Puck :'). They are so cute together though, so I could not break their relationship (literally because they are fictional characters! :) ).

The other reason why I loved this book was the whole concept of it. The way Stiefvater described the island, water horses, and the Scorpio Races was so creative and visionary. Overall, this whole idea of The Scorpio Races got me since the beginning of the book and I really wish there were a sequel, but I even searched online if there was going to be a sequel and there is not :'(. But I will never forget The Scorpio Races and how beautifully written it was.

Oh, how I wish I had a guy like Sean Kendrick in my school... :(

I NEED to read it...it's like I have questions that are unanswered and they need to be answered...QUICK! This prequel was absolutely amazing, but my life will be complete only if I read Pandemonuim. I NEED to read it...it's like I have questions that are unanswered and they need to be answered...QUICK! This story helped me learn more about Hana's side of the story which was much more hard for her. In Delirium I thought Hana was just a good friend and went to all the forbidden parties. But, as I read through Hana, I noticed that she had problems of her own that she kept a secret. The ending was the best, yet most twisted ending. The ending answered a question I had in Delirium. Why would Hana do such a thing?! The ending was the reason I give this book a four star, because other than that and some factors I learned about Hana, it was almost the same. I still loved this book though and I can't wait to read Pandemonium! GAHHHHH! ★★★★

       Let me start off with... (view spoiler)GAHHHHH TOBIAS!! D:< *Ahem*...now I will begin. Amber Eyes was one of those books that, by the cover, I didn't expect to be what it was. In this case, it was a good thing! Palliata did a phenomenal job with the writing. Everything seemed so realistic: from the look of Dez's eyes all the way to her memories. I absolutely loved the plot. This was one thing that kept me hooked on to this book. The plot was so surprisingly unique and I loved how Palliata had souls as part of the story. The way she described it made it so believable. Oh, but the way Lexi felt when (view spoiler)Dez left her  made me feel the grief and heartache that she had. For most of the book, I was so into the book that I felt as though I was Lexi. (view spoiler)Ohhhh...and how much I want Dez for my own! ;) Whenever Lexi''s heart skipped a beat, mine did as well; whenever her heartbeat increased from love or anguish, mine also; whenever her heart stopped from fear or shock, my heart did the same. The reason I gave this book a five star, basically, was that Lexi and I seemed to be the same people. I felt that I would do the same things she did during certain parts in the novel.
     
      Anyways, let's move on to THE CHARACTERS! Britney was by far my favorite character beside from Lexi. She could easily understand things and she was a fabulous observer. I would never realize certain elements of the story that she did. I also loved Britney because she was a good friend. She was so nice to Lexi, that Lexi knew that she could tell her the truth about her and Dez. This made me love Brit more when she kept it a secret, but learned things on her own about what Lexi told her. Sydney, Lexi's other good friend, was a less important part in the novel, but still, I got to learn her personality. The only personality trait I didn't like about Sydney was that she could be a bit obnoxious and she wouldn't give up on persuading Lexi to tell her certain things. On the other hand, her peronality kept the story going and made sure that each person had their own, unique, personality. Jason, Dez and Lexi's friend and Britney's boyfriend, was pretty important during the end of the novel while Riley, Sydney's boyfriend didn't have as big a role. Dez, Lexi's boyfriend and (view spoiler)soulmate was very mysteroius in the beginning and I wasn't sure if I'd like him. But, once he told Lexi something important, he became what my dream boyfriend would be. And Lexi, the main character, is funny, while keeping a serious attiude. Also, when (view spoiler)Dez left her she thought that he did that because he didn't love her anymore, which is probably what I would've thought too.
    
     I absolutely loved Lexi's and Dez's moments together in the present and the memorie that they shared since decades ago. All in all, I give this book a five because it deserved it. Palliata did a fabulous job writing Amber Eyes and I'm waiting to hear the release date for Crimson Eyes, the sequel!

Review: OH. MY. GOD. Let's just say...I cried. A lot. But ONLY at the end...for a good 10 minutes. BUT: (DO NOT READ IF YOU CAN INFER THINGS VERY EASILY) I felt better after I looked up a spoiler for the sequel. Then, at night I was so happy I couldn't fall asleep, even though I was sooo tired. Oh wait, back to the story. WOW....this story definitely reminded me of (view spoiler) DON'T READ INLESS YOU'VE READ BOOK! --> [Romeo and Juliet.] The ending shocked me and I couldn't believe what I was reading. It was SO suspenseful. The plot: I LOVED it. Such a unique, plus totally unthinkable plot. I would never imagine such a great idea as a plot. I would never think of love as a disease! Oh, but the characters were REALLY amazing. The main character, Lena, was born into this distopian society, so even though I was getting annoyed at her in the beginning of the story where she's overprotective of herself with Alex, it would be very rational for her to do such a thing, considered she was born and raised to think love was a disease. But, as the story progressed, Lena began thinking of her own opinions about love and what else it could really mean. Also, she was figuring out that the society wasn't what she thought it was, and that it never told the truth all the time. Oh and ALEX!!! Wait....can I have him?? To all these viewers, who have read the book or not, I'm not trying to give anything away!! <---very random to put it in the middle of my review haha! Alex is exactly like the future husband I would ever want. Plus, he cared so much about Lena! Every time something happened between them like when(DON'T READ UNTIL YOU READ BOOK!) (view spoiler)[they run off to the wilds and Alex confesses to her that he loves her...AWWWW!] *Ahem* Moving on...HANA! I've heard there's a prequel for this book called Hana that I'm definetely going to read! Hana, Lena's best friend, is the super pumped up, gorgeous girl that I would SO want to be friends with! Hana and Lena's personalities sort of switch throughout the book, when Lena discovers that love isn't a disease. But, I still love Hana and I can't wait to read the prequel! The ending was the addest thing I've ever read!! And I know that must seem crazy, but if I hear that a book is really deppressing, I literally won't read it, even if it IS good. Oliver's lovely writing made me FEEL like I was Lena, or at least some random person watching them the whole time throught the story. Lauren had the most beautiful written story that crossed my life so far, and I hope it stat there. :) Overall, I fell in love with Oliver's book Delirium and I saw no flaws :).

Oh. My. God!!! :D I feel so happy right now. I read that book in 2 days. Linwood's book grabbed my attention right from the first page. I looovvvee Adrian, don't ask me why. Sometimes I thought he mean and arrogant and an idiot, but I just loved him! Maybe it's because it's just a book and I don't have to worry about all of the troubles going on about the magic disease. And Adrian better not leave Ria again or I might just have to jump in to the story and slap him across the face! Alright, enough about that :)...now for the review: WOW! The plot was simply amazing and so very unique! I would never come up with such a creative storyline. I personally LOVED the characters. I think Ria might've been my favorite character because she didn't give in to Adrian's stupidity and do what he said. But, I also REALLY loved the connection Adrian and Ria had together. Also, Adrian didn't leave her heartbroken like the rest of the girls. (Okay, maybe he did in the beginning, but then it was all good!) Aside from relationships, I really enjoyed how Ria went through the whole magic disease and how Ria had to control herself during the (view spoiler)time when she helped Adrian get the journal and other times when she was with Michael. Very creative when (view spoiler)Ria had to have contact with another magic disease carrier (Adrian) Personaly, those were my favorite parts. This story really made me think of how crazy college is going to be. (LOL!) Really though, this book was very detailed and had every feature a good book should have, which includes fantastic personalities with the characters. Oh and sorry for all the spoilers! I couldn't really explain the book without them ;). When's the sequel coming out? 'Cause I need to make a countdown gadget. PRONTO!

This book intrigued me for most of the time. I started to really like Alice because of the way that her brother and mother have died, and being crippled, she still doesn't really argue and she doesn't give up. This has also occurred when she was in the Dream Realms. Oh, and SHAMMERWACK!! Now who doesn't love him? I might not listen to him a whole lot, but he was so loving and caring towards Alice. The whole time Alice was in the realms, it was just more and more adventure for her. I truly loved the different and crazy things going on in the Dream Realms. The totally different characters really amazed me. All in all, this book left me wanting to know more. Hart did a great job with the fantastic writing. I could easily see the Dream Realms in my head! I just loved this book and oh-THE DARK DAYS!!! SOO SUSPENSEFUL!!!
